Cancer affects the whole family, changing the fabric and the focus of everyday life. During this time, Special Love offers an unwavering, unconditional community of support. A community that knows. A community that understands. Current patients and families, survivors, and bereaved families join to share what they learned, how they coped, and why, even at the darkest times, there is room for joy.

Have no fear. Our “camping” is not so rugged. The facilities we use are fully modernized with lodging that includes a bathroom in every room, four to six beds or bunk beds, heat, and A/C in most rooms. All family events are hosted at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal, Virginia, unless otherwise noted.

Ski Family Weekend

January 18-21, 2019

Pristine slopes for skiing, snowboarding, inner tubing. And cozy nooks for catching up with friends (or napping) by the fireplace. Need we say more? Mark your calendar now for January 18-21, 2019 for the next outing! Eligibility is for patients (and their immediate family members) who are 17 years of age and younger and have been treated for cancer since August 2015, as well as bereaved families with “BRASS-aged” siblings (7-16 years old)
