Give a break to a family with cancer this holiday season.
When your child is battling cancer, the stress can be unbearable. That's why Special Love was created in 1983 as a community of support. When the financial impact of your family's battle with cancer puts your utilities and other essential services at risk, things can reach crisis stage very quickly. And that's why Special Love created The Kathy Russell Emergency Fund. Named in honor of one of our founding board members, the fund serves to lessen a family's stress and keep their focus where it belongs - on their sick child.
Your gift to The Kathy Russell Emergency Relief Fund can prevent a family from losing power or other utility services, fix a car so a parent can get their child to the hospital for treatment, make a rent payment in time to avoid eviction, or any of dozens of other payments at a time when families are facing a crisis. And that can let them get back to fighting their child's cancer. Requests to the fund are made by social workers and other patient advocates within Special Love's service area and are used to pay for a host of prescribed needs. Grants range up to $500 per family and last year Special Love spent close to $30,000 on emergency financial relief.
Please consider a gift to The Kathy Russell Emergency Fund today - just use the link above and enter "KRERF" in the optional designation box when you get to it. Your gift is fully tax-deductible. You may also click on the links at left or call us at 888-930-2707 for more information.
Together we can make life a little easier for children with cancer and their families. |
